'O Me-nok Learning Center
'O Me-nok Learning Center, located in the town of Klamath, is one of the eleven schools in the Del Norte County Unified School District. Klamath is located on Highway 101, in the middle of Redwood National and State Parks, about 20 miles South of Crescent City, and 20 miles North of Orick. The area offers many outdoor recreational activities utilizing the proximity of the Pacific Ocean, and Klamath Rivers, and Redwood National and State Parks. The natural beauty of the area and the abundant wildlife provide a basis for a strong fishing and tourism sector for the local economy. Klamath is home to a part of the Yurok Tribe, which adds to the school’s vibrant culture. 'O Me-nok Learning Center offers Kindergarten through Sixth grade classes. We employ seven full-time teachers, a principal, secretary, and three half-time instructional aids, as well as a well-attended after school program. Additionally, the district provides needed supports and services including a full time Counselor, Health Services, Special Education and Resource, instructional coaching, and Speech Therapy.
